Import your Wufoo contacts into CakeMail

By Vincent Lamanna on February 11th, 2010

wufoo-160x80In case you haven’t noticed, there’s a recurring theme going on here. We’ve been busy integrating CakeMail into some of the most popular 3rd-party applications out there, and we’re happy to announce our latest - an integration with the popular Wufoo online HTML form builder.

Wufoo is a great application for helping non-techies collect, analyze and organize customer and survey information from their websites - all without needing to write a single line of code. Your submission and respondent data is stored in a secure Wufoo account, and now, thanks to our latest integration, you can send welcome emails and targeted email campaigns to that data from CakeMail. From basic newsletter signups to advanced lead generation forms, whatever you use Wufoo for, you can now use CakeMail to close the loop.

Great, how do I access it?

You first need to activate this module from the modules page. Then to access this new feature, simply login to your account and import a list under the ‘Contact lists’ tab. As you would import a basic .csv file, you can now upload directly from your Wufoo account. Select the ‘Wufoo’ button as the import source and you will be prompted to add your Wufoo subdomain and API key, as well as the particular form you want to pull the data from. You can even choose to send a Welcome email (delivered by CakeMail) to all new submissions.

Introducing: The CakeMail Developer Community

By Vincent Lamanna on January 21st, 2010

ning_peelinglogo_pink

CakeMail is far from your ‘average’ white-label email marketing product. Designed and built as an API and email delivery engine first and foremost, the true power of CakeMail lies in its extendability through its CakeEngineTM and CakeModule APIs.

Being able to integrate into any existing application - or have any existing application integrate into it - means our users are limited only by their imagination when using CakeMail as their email marketing product of choice. We’ve seen great integrations with CMS & CRM systems, invoicing applications, ecommerce websites and many more… but noticed there was one thing missing: a place to discuss ideas, troubleshoot code, get inspired, and generally act as a one-stop shop for anything and everything related to the CakeMail APIs.

So what have we done about it? You guessed it: We’ve launched the all-new CakeMail Developer Community. Simply register (or use your existing Ning login) and get cracking. You’ll need 4 things:

  • A (free) CakeMail account
  • An interface ID & key
  • A library of your choice for application development
  • A fantastic idea

We’ve documented and hosted everything else you’ll need to start integrating CakeMail with your business, application, or anything else you can think of. And, because we’ve made it a community, you can meet, chat with, and generally have fun with other developers, integrators, and CakeMail aficionados around the world.

Looking for something more (like extra revenue)? You can also apply to become a CakeMail Certified Developer or Certified Integrator, meaning you’ve been certified by us as having the requisite knowledge to build for or integrate with CakeMail’s APIs. Get new work from the community if you’re a freelancer or agency, and if you’re looking for technical help, now you know who to ask.

Don’t be shy - come say hello!

New: Measure CakeMail campaigns from Google Analytics

By Francois Lane on January 19th, 2010

analytics_logoAs we continue to add new features, CakeMail users can now extend their measurement capabilities past the inbox using a new Google Analytics integration module.  Users are now able to determine mailing campaign effectiveness in relation to on-site user behavior, all from within their existing Google Analytics account, and all by simply clicking a checkbox before sending.

Great, how do I access it?

As the account owner, go to the Modules tab in your account to activate the module - it will now be available to all clients under that reseller account.  Then, simply create a new mailing and check the ‘Google Analytics’ box during creation.  Once checked, all of your mailing’s links will contain a unique source code - specific to that particular email send - that will allow you to measure what your email recipients did on your site after receiving your mailing through your Google Analytics account.  How many recipients visited your homepage versus your deep pages? Which recipients actually ended up converting?  Knowing this crucial analytical information helps you and your clients refine future campaigns to maximize return on investment, and thanks to CakeMail, it’s now only a click away.

Stay tuned for a ton of new updates coming to CakeMail with our v2.3 release, and until then, happy analyzing!
