Here’s a checklist of items to see if you are qualified to be part of the marketing efforts for your company and/or product:
▢ Do you listen to your customers? To the good, the bad and the ugly?
▢ Do you love the product or service you offer?
▢ Can you listen to 99 “No’s” just to hear that one “Yes” ?
▢ Do you keep in mind your return on investment?
▢ Do you refuse to be second best?
▢ Are you working towards your vision of a better world?
If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions, you’re qualified.
Anyone who talks about your company, product and service is marketing it for you. They’re communicating the value you provide. The service you give. They’re building the recognition for your brand.
“Marketing is far too important to be left to the Marketing team.”
– Seth Godin, The Purple Cow.
Whether you’re the marketing “person” at your company, the founder or the customer service agent, you’re part of the marketing effort that your company performs.
So be open. Be honest. Be unafraid. Mostly though, be passionate.
