Make the most of natural wait times to get people to sign up to your newsletters:
When you meet people face to face, you should ask them to sign up to your contact list. Here are a few methods that are easy to put into practice:
- Have a paper form or a Tablet displaying the form near your checkout, at registration or at trade show booths.
- Ask people if they’d like to sign up during customer service calls
- Add the link to the form on invoices and receipts to prompt people to sign up.
When people sign up in person, remember to send an email that confirms their interest in your letter, with a link they have to click (this is the best option, as it provides proof of express consent) or an email that welcomes them to your newsletter (this is known as “single opt-in”) as soon as possible.
