Switching list languages is a snap

By February 28, 2011 2 Comments

CakeMail allows you to set the language of an individual contact list. This setting controls which language subscribe and unsubscribe messages appear in, as well as features such as viewing an email in a browser and forwarding emails to a friend. As of this writing, you can choose between ten languages for your contact lists, including English, French, Spanish, Dutch, German, Thai and more.

To choose a language for your list, go to the Contact List tab when you’re signed in to your CakeMail account. View the list you wish to set the language for by hovering your mouse over it and clicking on View List

On the left-hand menu go to List Settings. At the bottom of this page you’ll see the List Language option.

Hover your mouse over the selection and click on Change List Language

Once you’ve selected your new list language, all of the default pages associated with your list (like your unsubscribe page, forward to a friend, and view in browser) will be displayed in the new language.

You should point out the fact that an admin must enable additional languages for the account before users can select a different language for a mailing list. From the main admin dashboard: Settings tab > Your Site Settings > Languages.

Enabling more than one language in the “Contact List Languages” section enables the hover popup when you mouse over “Change List Language”, but the interface is still buggy for me: the CSS for the anchor tag is set to white despite the fact that it’s on a white background.

All of that information is available on our support knowledge base.
If you are encountering issues with anchor tags, please drop us a line at support@cakemail.com and we’ll be sure to take a look at it.
