Starting with version 3.5, there is now a new tab in the end-user interface that contains information on how to send the first campaign as well as other useful common actions. This tab will appear in the product if one of these two conditions are met:
- The user has never logged in into the end-user interface,
- The user has not sent more than 5 campaigns.
The user also has the option to hide this tab forever by clicking on the button in the upper-right corner of this new tab.
On top of that, you have the possibility to add a welcome message that will appear inside a popup. You can also add a photo as well as your signature in order to add even more personalization. CakeMail provides a default welcome message that you can use as a basis. We recommend to keep this message as short as possible, as the popup has to keep a reasonable height.
If you decide to upload a photo, it will be automatically resized to 35×35 pixels.
This welcome message is completely optional and is disabled by default. All the options for this feature are under the Settings tab, in the Sign up settings section.
Once the message has been read by the user, it is hidden and will not appear again before 7 days, if the Welcome tab has not been already hidden by the user.
Default contact list
Prior to version 3.5, users needed to create a contact list before being able to send their first campaign. From v3.5, when logging in for the first time, the system automatically creates a contact list containing the email address of the user. That way, the user can use the product and send his first campaign right away.
