Making wishes come true: 1.9M raised during the 48 HOUR RIDE

By September 21, 2016 No Comments

The 10th edition of the 48 HOUR RIDE Make-A-Wish / Fais-Un-Voeu Québec raised a record breaking $1,906,000 for the foundation this year. Over 1,700 participants biked on the weekend of September 16 through 19. Rain or shine, the cyclists could be found on the Gilles Villeneuve circuit, biking for 48 hours to raise funds for children with life-threatening medical conditions.

The CakeMail/Courrielleur team raised $ 9,240 thanks to its generous donors. With a smile, and a few sore muscles, the team members each took turns to bike during the 48 hours. It was our duty as participants. We were rewarded a hundredfold by being to see how wishes helped children and their families. Namely, we were able to see the Kaleb, 8 years old, unveil his wish, live at the event.

We’re also happy to announce the winners to the delicious prizes, generously offered by our partners. The names have been randomly chosen from the pool of donors who gave $25 and more.

The winners are:

  • 4 gift certificates, valued at $50 each at Smoking BBQ
    • Daniel Côté
    • Nathalie Bouthillier et Max Laurier (Olivier et Léa)
    • Anna Vrontakis
    • Marie-Ève Dubois
  • 2 gift certificates, valued at $50 each at Satay Brothers
    • Edwin Vergara
    • Benoît Renaud
  • 1 One-hour photoshoot, valued at $300, including 12 digital photos
    • Geneviève Lacharité

Thank you to everyone who helped make a child’s wish come true!
